Our Story
ServiceMax began with a simple need and a strong work ethic. In the late 1980s, founder Mark Robinson was working a day job selling insurance in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but struggling to make ends meet with two small children at home. Looking for some extra money, Mark picked up a custodial position cleaning a small FedEx Express location in Dalton, Georgia – a growing company that had just gone public within the prior 10 years.
What started as a few hours of cleaning quickly evolved. FedEx soon asked if Mark could wash trucks, and before long, he was fielding maintenance requests and pitching in to help load, unload, and scan packages. It was a time of rapid growth for FedEx, and Mark’s reliability, flexibility, and commitment to doing whatever was needed laid the groundwork for what would eventually become ServiceMax Corporation.
From those humble beginnings, ServiceMax has grown into a multi-state operation with a team of over 1200 serving more than 120 sites across 24 states. Rooted in hard work, adaptability, and a genuine desire to serve, our story is one of growth, powered by people, grounded in values, and built for the future.
